Terminal Architecture
A multifunctional airport terminal for Schiphol Airport City, with NACO and Schiphol Group.
A graduation project in Explorelab. With Suzana Milinovic, Frank Schnater and Jurjen Zeinstra. Schiphol-group (the managing firm of Schiphol) has gathered an archive of interesting businesses-cases on enhancing the customer experience. There has been created a series of business-cases concerning the concept of the ʻAirport-Cityʼ. These businesses-cases underline that since the last decade a course has been taken towards a different type of managing this airport. Schiphol-group is a single organization curating and financially managing the ultra-urban environment of the airfield. For this Schiphol has been depending on international politics. In effect the last two decades its lay-out has been transformed because of the influence of the so-called Schengen agreement. These transformations unveil a number social issuesʼs through the particular topology of space. Schiphol-group is an organization with the spatial logistics and politics compareable to a modern city, this to me is an interesting phenomenon.
